The Thermal Bore is a Light class gadget that can be fired at a structure from a long distance to breach through it.
Usage
The Thermal Bore can be selected as one of three gadgets of any Light build loadout.
The gadget can be held and fired like a weapon. It has a special type of sights, offering a scope. Enabling the scope will zoom in the screen and overlay it with a duplex reticle, and will slow down movement and sensitivity.
The trigger can be pulled to fire a thermite projectile that will stick to the first surface it hits and then explode. It cannot be fired at contestants, as the projectile will travel through them.
When a new charge of the Thermal Bore is ready, it needs to be reloaded like a weapon, unlike most gadgets. The reloading animation is automatically started once a charge is ready and the gadget is held.

Stats
Effects
The Thermal Bore can be deployed by firing it from any distance. If it hits a surface, a thermite charge is attached to the surface. This charge sets surrounding objects on fire if they are flammable.
After a few moments, the thermite charge explodes, dealing major damage to surrounding structures. It also deals a very small amount of damage to opponents in a small area.
Properties
Gadget
Single Fire — Fires once when the trigger is pulled. The trigger must be released before firing again.
Scope — Has the ability to scope in. This grants near-perfect accuracy, but produces a glint that reveals the user's location.
Multiple Charges — Can be used 2 times. When a charge is used, it automatically recharges over the cooldown time.
Gadget Reload — Automatically goes into a reloading animation once the gadget is used and a new charge is ready to be loaded.
Unstable Accuracy — Suffers a significant decrease in accuracy while moving and while airborne.
Projectile
Hitscan — Travels in a straight line, meaning there is no bullet drop. The direction will deviate from the crosshairs depending on accuracy. The Thermal Bore completely ignores contestants and will only hit structures.
Trigger on Impact — Triggers a wind-up when a surface is hit, after which it explodes.
Not Interceptible — Can not be removed by the APS Turret.
Not Damaging — Ignores contestants in its shot, and thus will not damage them if fired directly at them.
Thermite
Attached — Attaches to a surface upon deployment. Sticks to the surface even if it moves. Weighs down any carriable object it is attached to.
Trigger on Time — Triggers after a fixed amount of time.
Sound Cue — Produces a loud firecracker sound when it is about to explode, alerting nearby contestants.
Incendiary — Creates fire, which can spread to nearby goo and foliage and burn them down. It can also light up contestants that come very close.
Friendly Fire — The fire can spread to teammates.
Not Destructible — Cannot be destroyed by receiving damage such as from bullets or explosions.
Explosion
Explosive — Deals damage in an area of effect that can be intercepted by structures and shields.
Damaging — Deals damage to contestants.
Major Structure Damage — Damages structures. Instantly destroys a concrete wall.
Not Incendiary — The explosion does not spread fire.
No Friendly Fire — The explosion can damage the user, but not their teammates.
Guide
Strengths
- Compared to the similar Breach Charge, the Thermal Bore can be fired from any range to any place in the arena instead of only a nearby surface.
Tactics
- The Thermal Bore synergizes well with the SR-84, as it can be used to create an opening in a building from a long distance.
- The projectile fired from the gadget will emit a shower of sparks upon hitting a solid wall, and explode soon after. These sparks act as a source of fire, and will burn goo and ignite toxic gas.
