Oil barrels, also known as fire barrels, or simply orange barrels, are carriable objects that are placed around the arena grounds. They release fire upon being triggered.
Overview
Like any barrel, oil barrels are placed at random locations picked from a large set of fixed barrel locations specific to the arena. It is possible for no barrels to be present in a round. They can also be obtained from balloons. Contestants can pick up the barrel and carry it around the arena.
The canister will start appearing to be on fire when it takes enough damage. When it does, a N/A second timer will start. When this time expires, or when the barrel takes more damage, it will explode much like the explosive canister, but also set fire to everything within the blast radius.
All fire from the fire barrel deals the same amount of damage and has the same properties as any other fire source, such as pyro grenades or pyro mines.
Strategy
- Fire barrels can be used as area denial tools when defending a cashout.
- Shooting them near or in a building can serve as an improvised breaching device.
- The fire from the barrel can clear clouds of gas.
