The Grappling Hook is a Light class specialization that allows its user to quickly move a long distance through the air by swinging from structures.
Effects
The Grappling Hook can be activated to throw out a hook which, if it hits a surface, will drag the user towards it over time. During this time, the user can control their movements, It is also possible to use weapons and other items while flying.
Usage
The Grappling Hook can be selected as the specialization gadget of any Light build loadout.
The primary trigger can be used to activate the gadget. If the hook hits a surface, the user will fly towards it. The movement triggers can be used to control this flight. Moving sideways will cause the user to sway to that side, whereas moving forwards or backwards will affect the height at which the user will be dropped off. The exact effects of each movement input depends on where the hook was placed relatively to its user.

Strategy
Strengths
- The user can still fire their weapon while grappling somewhere.
Weaknesses
- The user is exposed while flying through the air and clearly visible to any onlookers.
- Compared to other Light Specializations, the Grappling Hook mostly offers out-of-combat value for transportation, whereas the other specializations offer mid-combat or stealth value.
- A Grappling Hook user should make sure to get the maximum value of their greatly enhanced out-of-combat movement, such as by bringing the Cash Box to the objective faster than anyone can follow them.
Tactics
- The Grappling Hook can be combined with a marksman weapon to travel from one high-up sniper position to the next.
Item Mastery
Item mastery XP can be earned by connecting the Grappling Hook to a surface.
Each time a certain XP threshold is reached, the item levels up. This does not improve the item, but rewards a unique item customization.
